We met Molly and Cameron while we were all living in New Mexico back in 2003 when Danny and I were newlyweds and Molly and Cameron were trying to have a baby. Fast forward to 2010 and we're all in Virginia together watching their baby play with our babies. Incredible.
Sophia is five years old now and she goes to preschool every morning. It's been tough to work out playdates because she is too big for afternoon naps and mine still require them. But, since Ty is doing better about staying awake a little longer after lunchtime, we've been able to make some playdate modifications.
Yesterday was one of those days.
I get so tickled when Sophia comes over to play because Molly always reports that Sophia has spent the morning telling everyone at school how she is planning to "babysit Tyler and baby Lydia" that afternoon. And, she legitimately thinks she is babysitting while she's here. It is so cute!
We were all able to have lunch together, and Molly and I were able to catch-up some while we watched the kids play. I love having old friends. New friends are fantastic, too, because they'll eventually be old friends, but there's something about an old friend who doesn't require hearing much of your history in order to be caught up on all your latest stories that makes it so much easier to hang out with them. Molly is one of those friends, and I just love having the chance to spend time with her.
I wonder if Sophia could babysit again next week...
