The sun is shining, the sky is blue, it's thirty-something degrees outside, and the slow drip-drop of melting snow could lull one into a peaceful afternoon nap in a hurry.
I can't tell you how greatly improved my mood is today since I was able to get out of the house, drive up the road, go to My Gym, and do a little shopping. Outdoor and retail therapy were just what the doctor ordered!
My Gym was lots of fun, as usual. Everyone was full of cabin fever stories, and, to my surprise, the children weren't nearly as hyper as I expected them to be. Perhaps they were in shock. It's been a while since any of us have been outside of the same four walls!
After My Gym I made a pit stop at, not one, but, two gas stations. That's a very boring story that I will refrain from telling you, but just know that standing outside in the freezing cold trying to pump gas that won't work is about enough to send one over the edge.
Enter: Retail Therapy.
A trip to Toys R Us sounded like just the cure for any gas station and cabin fever woes I might have left. Sure enough, a few trips around the place landed my kids some new toy loot, new sippy cups, and Lydie some new diapers. Plus, as an added bonus, I met a really cool woman who has kids the same age as mine and wants to get together for a playdate. Why couldn't I have met her months ago??
So, for the rest of the day we are playing with the new Little Tikes kitchen I purchased for Lydie (I've never seen the thing until today and I was helpless to resist it...it's adorable!) and the new crane truck that Tyler chose as his special treat.
And, we couldn't be happier!
