Five Days Indoors

It was late afternoon today when I realized that I haven't left my house since Friday morning. By my count, that's five days cooped up in a house with 36 inches or more of snow outside and a "raring to go" two year old inside.

We are quickly running out of ideas to keep us busy, and my motivation to do anything productive is completely shot.

I need a serious dose of Vitamin D, as in the sunshine and fresh air, in a BAD way, but 12 degree wind chills are not conducive to "fun in the sun." Those Florida beaches are sounding so good right about now.

It looks like the city is on shut-down again tomorrow, but I am hoping and praying that I'll be able to take Ty to his gym class on Friday morning, at least. We both need to let off some steam.

I have finished all my chores for the evening and I am going to plant myself in front of the DVR for a little while. Some good, brainless television watching will do me good.

Y'all get some sunshine for me, please.

These big icicles are everywhere today. I'm afraid to walk too close the edge of any overhangs because I am just certain those things could stab you to death!

Poor Ty wanted to go outside and shovel so badly with his daddy this afternoon, but a 12 degree wind chill and 30 mph wind gusts were just not safe for him. Nonetheless, he yelled, "Snow boots! Snow boots, Mommy!" for about 30 minutes. Poor thing is stir crazy, too.

You have every reason to be bouncing off the walls. No one can say that you haven't handled this all in stride. I'd have gone crazy several days ago.
