Ty and Lydie's First Snow!

Tyler and Lydie saw snow for the very first time today!

Really, we all saw snow for the first time today because I've never lived anywhere where the snowflakes were this big and where the snow fell constantly. It was something!

The day began cold and rainy, and, although we were running behind, I took Tyler to his My Gym class this morning. Since the Starbucks and the Giant grocery store are in the same parking lot, we took the opportunity to warm up with some Chai tea and chocolate milk and then buy a few staples. You know how we southerners are when it comes to the possibility of snow...

Anyhow, by the time we were making our way to the check-out line, I could see out the door that it was pouring snow. I mean, it was coming down in sheets. Diagonal sheets. Tyler was amazed by the sight of it, but he wasn't too interested in touching it.

Mommy made a big scene in front of the grocery store squealing, "Look, Ty! Snow! You've never seen snow! Look, Ty! What do you think?" And on and on and on, all the while snapping pictures with my camera phone. Borderline ridiculous, but I couldn't help myself!

Lydie wasn't too impressed with the snow. From the warmth of her bouncy seat, she watched it fall outside the windows, but she could have cared less. As expected.

It was such a neat day. Something about the snow totally energizes me, and I have been in the best mood since the white stuff started falling. I hope it hangs around a few days, but I am afraid we're in for a little bit of ice now.

Well, the cubed steaks are in the oven and I need to go make the potatoes and beans. Comfort food for a cold, winter day. Can't get much better!!
