Here is what I have been doing this week:
And, that's not all of them. Notice that those fish and fins had to be traced and cut out of foam. Then, they had to get markings on the front and back. I was responsible for 200. My VBS partner, Heather, was responsible for the other 200. Thankfully, we've been able to recruit exceptional helpers (my sweet husband included), and we might be able to finish everything after Bible study tonight.
Most recently, I have been poking holes where fishing line will be strung for hanging, and cutting holes in the middle of the fish bodies where the fins will go through.
I have to say, I am more worn out before VBS this year. I hope next week will be a breeze after all this preparation.
And, I hope that our fish don't make their way to landfills too quickly, but I pray that all my cutting and drawing might lead a child to Jesus. That's really what this is all about anyway.
UPDATE: 11 p.m. We're done fishing! Hallelujah!

It was one thing to hear about all the fish and another thing entirely to SEE them. Goodness gracious. You have been busy. Glad you got some good fish pics!
I am so impressed with you! So much work! I know your hands must be killing you. Im saying extra prayers for you;)
Look at you...always keeping the bigger picture in mind. What is truly important is to know that you might literally have a hand in bringing a child to know Christ...there's nothing more special than that. And I LOVE the way your church does VBS...what an amazing outreach to children!
Oh how I miss Vacation Bible School -- I did my stints as teacher and director (twice) and I loved it so much. So did Jeffrey -- and so will Tyler, in a year or so :-)
Jesus loves you, Jenn Hill Watson, and he is proud that you're a Fisher of men (and women)...
NOW. I want to see that Easy Button picture!
