Instead of "the driveway," Tyler calls it "the highway."
Poor kid has lived in a townhouse too, too long.
Every night, after dinner, he wants to go play on "the highway." So does Lydie, but she can't quite verbalize her desires that specifically yet.
So, every night, Danny and I gear up for the sweatfest that is sure to occur in the 100% humidity, Florida Panhandle night air, and we play on "the highway" as a family.
Typically, this involves the "bicycle" and Lydie's walker, but, sometimes, the scooter and the wagon make appearances, too.
Tyler understands that at the line at the end of "the highway," he is to freeze. He knows there is a street beyond that line and that cars could come by and hurt him. Lydie, on the other hand, could care less about freezing or getting hit by a car. That girl starts feeling the wind in her hair and there is no stopping her. One of us has to be sure to be at the end of the driveway to turn her around so she can go up the little hill again. Otherwise, there's no telling where she'll take that walker.
I'm afraid this is a prophetic foreshadowing of things to come.
The still pictures here just don't do the fun we have a bit of justice, but the video below is proof that my daughter, even though she can't yet walk, is a barefooted daredevil.

that just might be the funniest video I've seen in a long, long time! It looked like she was in fast forward motion! Those little legs were moving!
That video is hilarious. It reminds me of myself trying to ski.
