Jumping, Jumping

Lydie keeps me in a fit of constant worry. I hope that won't be true of her entire life, but I'm afraid it will.

My latest concern is that she refuses to bear (bare?) weight on her legs when she is held in a standing position. Since all the little kiddos her age in her gym class are able to stand with assistance, I am of the opinion that she's behind in this gross motor skill. I just don't think her spaghetti legs can be normal at five months old. Maybe they are...

Well, if I can help it, we will correct this situation. However, I am no physical therapist, so my mommy know-how will have to do.

And, all I have in my arsenal of know-how that could possibly help with her weight-baring issue is the jumparoo. I would have pulled it out of the closet long ago, but it seemed to take her a while to get her head stable enough that the jumparoo would be a safe form of entertainment. It is now set up and being used to correct those spaghetti legs if any correction is at all possible. So far, she really likes the new view and enjoys playing with the little toys, but she does not put any weight on her legs and hasn't jumped at all. Granted, it's only been a couple of days. Hopefully, things will progress in the next week or so.

It should also be noted that Tyler, too, is a big fan of the jumparoo, and I am just waiting for him to figure out how to get himself hoisted over and into the seat.

Spaghetti legs and all, there's no doubt she's cute as she can be in that jumparoo!

Miss Kitty often captures Lydie's attention, which just tickles me.

I am so relieved that the doctor thinks that Lydie is okay. Please keep me informed on how she is progressing.

Love,
Mom
