Let 'Em Eat Cake!!

As I mentioned in the previous baby shower post, I hired Crystal to make the cake for Cynthia's special day because, quite frankly, I can't get enough of Crystal's delicious confections (undoubtedly, Cynthia is a fabulous baker, too, and I really like when she shows up with chocolate cakes and chocolate covered strawberries...where do I get all these talented friends??).

Luckily, Crystal knows how much Danny, Tyler, and I enjoy her cakes, so she made some extra cupcakes for us to keep and enjoy after the shower (I was fortunate enough to keep a chunk of the chocolate cake, too). So, this afternoon, we all dug in.

And, when I say we "dug in," I mean that Danny and I ate the cupcakes rather cleanly and without too many frosting mustaches. Tyler, however, did not get the neatness memo and dug right in. Literally.

I simply had to grab the camera, and I apologize to those of you who aren't grandparents or family members for the barrage of pictures to which you are about to be exposed. It was just too good to miss.

Thankfully, Tyler was willing to help clean up his mess. I think he loves my little kitchen sweeper as much as I do (and, really, he ought to, seeing as how he watches me use it no less than three times a day).

Oh, by the way, he's cleaning in his church shirt and diaper because the church pants were in the danger zone for being ruined by frosting fingers.

After dinner, he helped us clean up again...in his outside clothes this time. Gosh, y'all might start to think that I don't have a single cute thing for my child to wear!

By the way, if you know anything about how anal I am regarding the cleanliness of my kitchen floor, you will understand how happy it makes me to have a little helper who is on the same page! Wonder when I should start thinking about a chore chart and allowance?? :)
