My husband, sweet as he is, is the world's greatest procrastinator. Bless his heart. He has so much to do that he has gone into shut-down mode. So, he's been taking a mental break for a couple of days and will hit the books hard for the next four or five days in preparation for his final exam.
First thing this morning, in an effort to help said procrastinating husband have some peace and quiet for the purpose of studying and writing papers, I shuffled the kiddos and my 800 pound diaper bag out the door for some energy sapping activity. We headed over to the soft playroom at the rec. center and then played on the playground for a little bit. It was such a beautiful day that I could have stayed there all afternoon, but I predicted growling tummies in my near future. It was almost lunch time and I was trying to figure out what in the world to do next. Go home and bother Danny? Take a gamble and risk losing all my sanity by taking both of the kids out to lunch? Pick something up and hit a picnic table somewhere? Hmmmmm...
About that time, my cell phone showed a call coming through from my house.
Danny said he'd taken a shower and was ready to go somewhere. He wondered if we could meet for lunch.
Well, I guess taking a shower and watching t.v. was how he spent his time alone with a quiet house...
Anyhow, I was game for the plan, so we met at Moe's where we soaked up the pleasant weather by enjoying our nachos and burritos outside. It was so much fun. Best time I've had with my family in months.
A quick trip to Trader Joe's followed by naps for the babies made up most of the rest of our afternoon. Except for the hour Danny and I spent on the front porch/stoop/patio planting some flowers in an oversized barrel-like pot.
I'm telling you, I could have just stayed in the sun today until it set. Perfect weather. Perfect day. Just perfect.

I am the same way. I could stay outside all day long right now. We didn't even get the kids in bed until 8:15 tonight, because we were all having too much fun to come inside.
On days like today, I wonder how we survived that super long winter.
The weather here is perfect! So glad you had a great, relaxing day....
