Hobby Lobby and other happys...

Hi. My name is Jennifer, and I am a Hobby Lobby addict.

If they sold diapers and groceries, I'd never leave.

Seriously, I have spent more time in Hobby Lobby than in any other store in Texas. I love the place. I am disturbed by the fact that the entire front entrance is covered in Christmas trees in August, but other than that, I adore the place.

There are so many fun things to look at, if only I could be a little more crafty and decorative. That's half the reason I'm in there so much and for so long. I wander around, aimlessly, and imagine whether this certain vase or this certain wall decor could work in my house, but I never can make a decision, so I never buy any of those things.

Now, I know what to do in the scrapbook section, and boy do I do it! I am forever buying papers and stickers and ribbons and...you get the point. But, the silk flower section eludes me like no other. It should not be that hard to make my own arrangement. Or, my own wreath. But, I can spend an hour looking through those flowers and never find a single thing to do with any of them. I need Papa Joe to visit me and teach me a few things (only, I will be choosing the colors; Papa Joe can help with the rest!).

So, if you're in the need of a pick-me-up, make a trip to your local Hobby Lobby. You will be inspired, if nothing else!

Since I have been feeling better, I have enjoyed other happys, too. I got up this morning to clean around the house a little bit in preparation for company. My cousin, Brandy, drove all night from Mississippi to visit San Antonio (a little over 12 hours). Technically, she's here to visit her step-brother and his wife since she made these plans before we moved here. But, she is working us in, and I am thrilled! She stopped by this morning to rest and visit for a little bit before heading to Clint's house. And, she came bearing Papa Vanelli's pizza.

Now, Papa Vanelli's is like an institution to us. Brandy and I are actually third cousins, or something crazy like that, but we were raised almost as sisters since we were both only children and our parents are the same age. Every time my mother and I would visit Brandy and her family, we'd head to Tupelo for Papa V's pizza. It's like no other, and I am not exaggerating. So, she brought a large pizza with her, and I have already eaten four pieces today (and, no my stomach has not been upset from the cheese at all). It's delicious!

Brandy left our house a little while ago, and she'll be back on Sunday to stay with us. She will head home to Mississippi on Tuesday morning. She's one of my favorite people, so I know we'll have fun!

It's kinda rainy and sluggish here today, but I am happy with the cooler temperatures. It seemed like an excellent day to bake cookies, which I just finished. I mentioned craving sugar cookies the other day. Well, there are no better sugar cookies in the world than the Pillsbury ones that you just pop in the oven to bake. The package I made has 24 cookies in it, and I'm betting there will be zero left in a couple of hours. They are too yummy for words.

I might entertain the idea of a nap, but more than likely I am going to begin making Tyler's Christmas stocking. I bought the kit the other day at, you guessed it, Hobby Lobby, and I need to get started on it ASAP since I am not a gifted seamstress by any means. Danny and I bought stocking kits for one another the year we got married, and those are still unfinished. I doubt Tyler will make it here by Christmas, but you never know. I'd like to have his stocking hanging with ours when we decorate, regardless. So, there's plenty of sewing to do, and it's a good day to be inside on the couch. Sounds like a plan!

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

I didn't realize how crafty you are! I have bought so many scrapbook things at Hobby Lobby, only to have them sit in a basket in one of our closets...I have YET to get past page 3 of the kids scrapbook! That's so sad...
Glad you are feeling better and in better spirits! Have fun with your cous!

You did find something to do with your spare time! Once I get back from my consignment appointment, I am going to work on my scrapbooking. Addison is 38 weeks old and according to her scrapbook, she is still 14 weeks...I've got a lot of catching up to do!

Miss you!

I want a hobby, but it seems like all of my hobbies translate to a lot of money.

Hobby Lobby is the bomb! We went there in Houston and I spent like 60$ on things like growing my own venus fly traps and Jeremie always like to look at the model cars although he never buys one! I miss you terribly!!!!

Love, LOVE Hobby Lobby! Hannah and I were there last week, and I bought two iron fleur de lis for only $8. That's not $8 each.....$8 total! I so love them and want to buy some more, but, sadly, I didn't make it back in time!

I miss you bunches, and I hope that I hear from you soon. I think I'm planning a E.A. Poe birthday trip to Baltimore the long MLK weekend! Call me! Love you!
