Lydia Rose is one month old today! That's hard for me to believe because it seems like the time has flown by since she first blessed our lives on May 20th.
At her last weight check she was 7 pounds, 13 ounces and 20.5 inches long. I'm certain she's over the 8 pound mark now though because she just looks bigger and she's outgrowing her newborn clothes.
Last night, the sweet girl slept for eight hours straight, and the two nights before that, she slept six hour stretches. I'm okay with babies once they sleep well, and it looks like she's on her way to meeting that requirement. Praise the Lord!
She still has every bit of that dark brown hair on head that she had at birth, and her eyes are still a gray-blue. Her olive complexion makes all the bright summer colors in her clothing look fabulous on her--lucky girl to be born with such a pretty tan!
Although we named her Lydia Rose, we most often call her "Lydie Sue." We're not sure how we came about that nickname or who originated it, but it is sticking like glue. Sometimes her daddy just calls her "Sue" and skips the details of her real name.
Overall, Lydie is a sweet little gal. She is watching us and listening to us more and has even cracked a few smiles at her big brother. We just can't get enough of her.
It's hard to believe how much she'll change in the next 11 months, but, before we know it, we'll be celebrating her first birthday.
I already wonder how different she'll look at one year compared to how she looks today at one month...
