It's a...

Well, today is my 28 1/2 year old birthday, and it's a day I will NEVER forget!!

As most of you know, I had my ultrasound this morning to check on the health of the baby and to see if we could determine the sex. The good news is that Baby Watson seems to be very healthy and active. The heart has all four chambers and no identifiable problems; the brain is formed correctly; all the arms and legs and fingers and toes are present; the kidneys and bladder are developing correctly; and, there was fluid in the stomach, which is a good sign. The baby weighs 6 ounces (8 ounces would be a half pound), and it is measuring 17 weeks (a little ahead of schedule). I am thankful and feel blessed that our baby is growing normally and seems to be very healthy.

The big news, that you all want to know, is that we WERE able to determine the baby's gender!! The baby spread its legs open wide for us, and we are expecting a....

BOY!!!
Here are some pictures from today. Enjoy!!

This is my pregnant self before the appointment. This is a maternity shirt and makes my belly look extra large!!
This is, very clearly, a baby boy! YEA!!
We couldn't get a great profile, so this is the best I have. Very precious, if I do say so myself!
Look at those little hands...he was boxing the whole time!
Here he is from the top...you can see his little feet and hands pretty well.
Some of the first things I bought for my son (sounds so weird!).
The bib in the middle is in honor of Papa Joe Watson since he loves chickens!

These are some rompers I found at The Children's Place.
The one in the middle is specifically for Danny because he told the baby that he knew he was going to be the President one day (I hope not...that would mean he'd be a dirty politician!).

Here is his first bathing suit (this is the back view)! I thought it was so precious!

Here are a few pictures I have been meaning to post:

This is a picture from Danny's recent awards ceremony. (L-R) Mr. Ritmo, SSgt Fratzke, Capt Watson, Maj Boose, Capt McPherson, Lt Col Dales

Daisy got a new duck toy from Bass Pro Shops this weekend.

She loves to hear it squeak!

Miss. Kitty's birthday was Sunday. She turned 6 years old. Doesn't she look enthusiastic about aging??

We love you all. Look for future posts about the baby's name. We are still working on that one!

You look great!!! You need to post a side picture...I can tell that you have a baby bump now, but a side picture would really help.

The clothes you purchased are so cute! I am more than happy that you are having a baby boy! Sorry, I couldn't see the penis in the ultrasounds, but then again, I had a girl so...

Love you!

I am so happy for you! It's so exciting. I could see the penis in the first one (he's not very modest). And he is as handsome as his Daddy and has his mother's sense of style (that's loosely from Steel Magnolias...since you're in Shreveport, I say, why not?)

Boys aren't as fun to dress as girls, but they're fun to raise.

Congrats! Blessings! Much love!

Jennifer..
it gave me chills to read this...let me tell you, little girls are wonderful and precious...but a little boy is his mama's heart! My little Canon is almost 5 months now and he stills my heart everytime he looks at me...although Abbie Kate is my love...so you cannot go wrong... but there is something about a mama and her baby boy! Many congrats to you and Dannny! Love, kyle

OH my gosh! Congratulations!!! I've been gone all day so I just read the news!!! YEA!!! I know you are excited and isn't is awesome to see the 4 chambered heart on the screen?? That was my favorite part(besides finding out the sexes!) Congrats!

After looking at these pictures on myspace...I could most definately see that he is all boy! My eyes must have been so tired last night when looking at it the first time--although I had Addie in my lap too, so that might have had something to do with it.

Just so you know, the barrettes in Grace's hair are/were mine when I was little. Yes, my mom saved everything!! Also, the Manilow fan is my mother in-law's best friend and she is OBSESSED!! She got shirts for both kids, but I haven't put it on Grace yet! And YES, Zach does look a lot like Dustin! Especially when my brother was little. Good memory!!

A sweet baby boy! Hopefully you will be able to give me and Joy advice on how to raise little boys one day. I'm so excited for the both of you. Baby Boy Watson is one blessed little fellow to have you two as parents.
