He woke up grouchy and threw a temper-tantrum when I told him that he couldn't have his Batman cake for breakfast.
The rest of his third birthday (at least, until the bedtime meltdown that occurred while the preacher and his wife were standing in my dining room) made for one heck of a happy memory.
I still contend that three years ago today, I was handed the most handsome, sweetest baby boy that God has ever created, and I couldn't be an ounce prouder to be his Mommy. He is the absolute joy of my life because he is the one who made me a mother. He is the best gift I've ever received.
His friends at school, along with Daddy, Lydie, and me, were on hand at snack time to celebrate the big guy's third birthday. It was so fun! The best part was that when he saw me, he immediately yelled, "Mommy! I want my Batman cake now!" He knew that if I was there, it was time.
I don't think he was disappointed.
